Mr. Leon Jenkins hales from Shreveport, Louisiana, but claims Texas as home. He grew up in the United States Air Force where his father spent over 28 years of illustrious military service. He is a 1976 Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio.

Mr. Jenkins holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio, and a Masters of Science Degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

His military education includes the Field Artillery Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, TACFIRE Computer Systems Training, Airborne and Ranger School Training, Combined Arms Service Staff School, and Command and General Staff College.Leon Jenkins - CEO BPBCC

Mr. Jenkins retired from the U.S. Army in 1998 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel following 22½ years of distinguished service in far away places such as Germany, Korea, and Southwest Asia. During his tenure in the Military, he held a host of choice assignments as Fire Support Team Chief, Firing Battery Executive Officer, Battery Commander for 34 months in back-to-back commands, Battalion and Brigade Fire Support Officer, Battalion and Division Artillery TACFIRE Computer System Instructor, 1st Cavalry Division Deputy Fire Support Coordinator, Grambling State University Professor of Military Science, and 75th Division 1st Simulation Exercise Group Executive Officer.

He has received numerous Military awards including the Bronze Star Medal for service with distinction in the 1991 Gulf War, and Legion of Merit for overall military service. He was also recognized as an “Outstanding Young Men of America” in 1987.

He served as Admin & Finance Administrator at his local church for 9 years, and now fully gives of his time, talents and treasures as a Deacon and active member of several ministries. He is also Co-owner of Chancellor Healthcare Institute, Inc., President/CEO of Bethel’s Place Black Chamber of Commerce, Inc., Editor-in-Chief of Empower Magazine, an Adjunct Business Professor for Concordia University, and Assistant Treasurer (Former President) of Men for Change, Inc.

Mr. Jenkins is married to the former Ms. Sandra Kay Roberts of Waco, Texas, who is an Assistant Nursing Professor at Prairie View A&M University, and who holds a Doctorate degree in Nursing Research from The University of Texas in Austin. They have four lovely daughters; Tracie, a graduate of North Texas State University and President/CEO of her own Publishing Company; Dawnna, who is married and a Medical Doctor in the U.S. Army; LeAnn, who is a graduate of U.T. Austin and presently works for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship; and Kathleen, who is a Valedictorian graduate of YES Prep Southwest Public School, and Junior at Cornell University.
